What is CureTape used for?

CureTape can be used for a wide range of physical complaints and is equally suitable for the prevention of sports injuries.
For professional therapists, taping forms an integral part of treatment. Special training courses have been developed to ensure that practitioners know exactly how to apply elastic kinesiology tape safely and effectively.

Therapists often advise their clients on how to use the tape themselves for minor issues or in between appointments. Many of these practical taping techniques can be found on our How-To-Tape pages.

Applications

  • Support for muscle or joint problems
  • Reduction of pain and swelling
  • Improvement of posture or movement patterns
  • Lymphatic drainage, for example in cases of fluid retention
  • Scar treatment and skin recovery
  • Cosmetic use, such as Beauty Taping

What can you expect from CureTape?

CureTape is a high-quality medical product that usually remains in place for three to five days after it has been applied. You can shower, swim or exercise without any problems. On areas of the body that move or stretch frequently, such as the hands and feet, the tape may need to be replaced a little sooner.

Correct application is crucial to achieve the best results. The tape’s effect largely depends on how it is applied: the amount of stretch, the direction of application and the placement of the ends without tension all influence its performance.
If applied incorrectly, the skin can become irritated.

Therapists who have completed certified taping courses know precisely how to apply CureTape safely and effectively. When applied properly, the results are often noticeable straight away. A professional can also show you how to use the tape yourself for certain conditions, for example as a preventive measure before physical activity.

If you would like to try it yourself, visit our How-To-Tape pages for step-by-step guidance and visual examples.
Always use CureTape responsibly. If symptoms persist or worsen, it is advisable to consult a therapist or medical professional.

How does CureTape work?

CureTape is elastic and mimics the properties of the human skin in both thickness and stretchability. Once applied, the tape gently lifts the outer layer of the skin, which influences several underlying physiological processes through the connective tissue. These include lymphatic flow, proprioception (awareness of body position and movement), pain modulation and muscular as well as joint support.

Because the tape is elastic, it does not restrict movement as traditional rigid sports tape does. Instead, it encourages natural mobility, allowing for faster recovery and improved function.
