CureTape — Everything About CureTape

More Than Just Kinesiology Tape

CureTape® is a professional kinesiology tape brand with its roots firmly in physiotherapy, rehabilitation and movement.

The story began in the Netherlands in 1998, when FysioTape started introducing elastic therapeutic taping to healthcare professionals across Europe, while physiotherapists and other medical professionals were trained in the techniques that would later become known as the Medical Taping Concept (MTC). Working closely with professionals in the European medical community led to the development of a kinesiology tape designed specifically for professional use, and in 2003, CureTape® was born.

Since then, CureTape has developed from a single professional kinesiology tape into an extensive range of tapes for therapy, sports, sensitive skin, beauty applications and many other uses. But the principle behind the brand has remained the same: create reliable, high-quality products that allow the body to move freely.

The Origins of the Medical Taping Concept

Traditional athletic tape is generally rigid and is often used to restrict or stabilise movement. Kinesiology tape approaches taping differently.

Instead of immobilising an area, elastic kinesiology tape is designed to move with the skin and body. This principle became an important part of the Medical Taping Concept, a method that combines elastic tape with specific application techniques depending on the objective of the treatment. Over the years, the concept has developed through practical experience, education and insights from physiotherapy, rehabilitation, sports medicine, lymphatic therapy and related disciplines.

CureTape and professional education have therefore always been closely connected. A quality tape is only one part of the equation: how, where and why the tape is applied matters just as much.

Medical Taping Concept

A method combining elastic tape with specific application techniques, developed through decades of practical and professional experience.

How Does Kinesiology Tape Work?

CureTape has an elasticity that is designed to resemble the elastic properties of human skin. Once applied, the tape moves with the body instead of substantially restricting movement.

Moves with the body

Depending on the application technique, kinesiology tape can interact mechanically and sensorily with the skin and underlying tissues.

Convolutions

One visible effect that can occur after application is the formation of small waves or folds in the skin, often referred to as convolutions.

An addition, not a cure

CureTape has traditionally been used as an addition to physiotherapy, rehabilitation, exercise and other professional treatment approaches.

The Scientific Background of Kinesiology Taping

Kinesiology taping has been studied within fields including musculoskeletal rehabilitation, pain, proprioception, movement, sports recovery and lymphatic therapy.

As with many physical treatment techniques, scientific findings can vary depending on the condition being studied, the application method, the study design and the outcome being measured. Research into kinesiology taping continues to develop. That is why CureTape believes in combining three important elements:

Professional knowledge

High-quality products

Evidence-informed application

Our focus is not only on developing reliable kinesiology tape, but also on supporting education and the continued development of professional taping methods.

Quality Starts With Manufacturing

A kinesiology tape may look simple, but producing a consistent, high-quality tape requires careful control over many different variables. The textile needs to provide the correct elasticity, the adhesive must remain reliable during movement and daily activities, and the material needs to be breathable and comfortable on the skin — while production consistency is essential to ensure reliable performance from one roll to the next.

CureTape is manufactured in a certified factory in South Korea with extensive experience in the production of professional kinesiology tape. Careful selection of materials, controlled manufacturing processes and continuous quality control are important parts of the CureTape production process — from raw material to finished roll, quality remains an essential part of the CureTape philosophy.

Professional Quality Is More Than a Claim

Products used by healthcare professionals need to meet more than aesthetic or performance expectations.

Quality management, traceability, documentation and compliance with applicable requirements are important parts of the way CureTape products are developed, manufactured and distributed. We continuously work to maintain high quality standards throughout the process, from the selection of materials and production to packaging and distribution.

This structured approach to quality is one of the reasons CureTape has been used for decades by physiotherapists, therapists, sports professionals and other healthcare practitioners around the world.

Developed Together With Professionals

CureTape did not originate as a consumer trend. It grew from professional practice. Since the earliest years of the brand, feedback from physiotherapists, instructors, distributors and other healthcare professionals has contributed to the development of both our products and taping techniques.

That relationship continues today. Practical experience provides new questions, research provides new insights, and manufacturing technology creates new possibilities — bringing those worlds together helps us continuously improve what we do.

Education Has Always Been Part of CureTape

When FysioTape began introducing kinesiology taping in Europe, professional taping education also became an important part of its activities. Education was therefore never simply added to CureTape afterwards — it is closely connected to the foundations on which the brand was built.

Through the Medical Taping Concept, healthcare professionals have been educated in the principles, techniques and practical applications of elastic therapeutic taping — covering rehabilitation, sports, lymphatic therapy and specialised treatment.

From CureTape to THYSOL Group

As CureTape grew internationally, so did the organisation behind it.

Still a foundation

Despite international growth, CureTape remains one of the foundations of the company.

Always Moving Forward

Our work is not finished when a product reaches the shelf.

We continuously evaluate materials, production processes, professional feedback and developments within healthcare and movement science. New technologies can help improve manufacturing, new insights can create opportunities for different applications, and feedback from the people actually using CureTape helps determine where the brand goes next.

Innovation, for us, does not mean changing a product simply because we can. It means finding ways to make it better, more reliable or more useful.

Movement plays an essential role in everyday life

Our vision is to make high-quality products and knowledge accessible to the people who help others keep moving — from physiotherapists and other healthcare professionals to athletes and people using kinesiology tape themselves. For more than two decades, CureTape has continued to develop around that idea.

Professional roots. Consistent quality. Continuous innovation. Always designed with movement in mind.

That is CureTape.
